Heart Failure.....I mean Hard Drive Failure

That is almost the same thing isn't it? How much worse can it get? My information was mostly backed up....funny thing, I was planning on purchasing a new backup drive next week! All of my email was not however backed up and that is mostly the stuff I need, all of the registration codes for the things that I will need to reinstall! ACK!

I will try to continue posting more often, even though it will have to be from DH's computer for a while until I convince him I need a new laptop (why just replace the HD?) We will see! I would add a picture but those all went down the drain too! Thank goodness I sent all of my pics of the cruise to a friend so she can send them back to me!

Here's to hoping I can work some Hard Drive magic this afternoon!

Another Day, Another Challenge!

Thats right, It is the Two Thousand SOCKS challenge! Amie from the Rose By Any Blog had started counting socks! Surely all of the knitting bloggers out there can come up with that many socks this year! Lets see, It is Jan 26 and I have 3 socks already knocked out this year and there are 382 already accounted for on her site, If I keep up my 2 pair a month I can contribute 48 socks this year! I bet that we can blow this goal out of the water by the 4th of July! Go to Amie's web page and keep her up to date as you knit socks to that she can tally them and check back in to see where we stand!

Let the Games Begin!

Ok.....The cruise was great! I will post some pics as soon as I get them back! I got a lot of grief from some family members for not taking more digital pictures but they were quick to quiet down once I explained my reluctance to take my $500 camera under water while snorkeling. I did take a few underwater cameras and will have the pictures back soon!

It is time for the Winter Olympics and as a tribute I will be joining the Yarn Harlot and apparently a few thousand other knitters who are slightly off their rockers in the Knitting olympics!

I will be knitting the Womens Cabled Sweater from Jo Sharp's Contemporary Knitting book. I have always wanted to knit a cabled sweater so here goes.....we cast on February 10th for opening ceremonies and will be done 16 days later! I apologize in advance to those of you who will not hear from me during those dates as I will be feverishly knitting to beat the deadline!

Since there are so many of us and we are spread around the globe we have joined teams....Go USA!

Wish me the best of luck, I am off to train (swatch) for my sweater!

Muni Wifi Discussion has been postponed!

After much discussion Paige and I decided that we need to wait two weeks to do the podcast on Municipal Wifi! We really want more input from people so here is your notice, you have two weeks to procure a microphone so that you can participate! We can't wait to see you in our conference room and hear your opinions on this hot topic! If you have any questions please email us at views@2smartchix.com. Visit our Views from the Coop blog to get more information on where and when we will be recording the podcast!

Kumette has decided she really likes the computer too! Even she reads the Views from the Coop Blog!

Back to knitting!

Ok, It has been a while but I am finally settled down from the holidays and ready to get back to knitting a little more often! Paige and I have been podcasting once or twice a week about computer and techi stuff and that is a blast but I can't help missing my knitting more often!

I had two students at my knitting class yesterday and it kind of got me more motivated! Now that I have one of my new Koigu socks done I need to get the second one on needles before the new Opal yarn gets here or I will never see sock number two! These are actually for ME! I keep giving away all of my socks and this has become a problem!

I am also working on a sweater, couldn't decide which to do so I chose two sweaters and now have the yarn for both staring at me! I am working on one in Debbie Bliss Cathay and it is beautiful!

Ok, Last thing, I will post pictures here of the new felted bag I just finished! This one was a really quick and turned out better than I imagined. It is a gift for my best friend Deb so don't tell her you saw it.
